knowledge of local education
I have a deep knowledge of the issues impacting our area. I continue to work with the Mayor and other City Council Members to communicate with Our Harford County representatives in Annapolis, the County Executive and Harford County School Board to emphasis the citizens concern on students returning to the classroom and the opening of the new Middle/Senior High School including its New Magnet Program “ Information Technology-Oracle Academy.
I was an active and involved parent raising one child in the Harford County Public School system. I saw firsthand the way the school system worked, and sometimes did not work. In my time with the Maryland State Police I witnessed the creation of the DARE program and worked with DARE personnel. I also worked closely with the school system in dealing with and communicating safety issues impacting our youth and our schools. Havre de Grace was one of the first City’s in the nation to provide school resource officers to all schools in Havre de Grace and I continue to support the efforts of the Havre de Grace Police Department in maintaining SRO’s in our schools.
KNOWLEDGE OF PUBLIC SAFETY
As an honorably retired member of the Maryland State Police I have an understanding of law enforcement and public safety.
